Program Description
NPHY’s Emergency Shelter Program (ESP) provides a safe, confidential, home-like setting for unaccompanied homeless minors and transition-age youth. As the first shelter in Southern Nevada to serve unaccompanied minors without requiring parental consent, ESP remains the only program in Clark County that accepts youth as young as 12 years old. Youth staying in ESP receive a warm bed, meals, clothing, and basic medical care, along with daily support from trained Direct Care Staff and a licensed social worker. In addition to meeting immediate needs, the program offers case management, counseling, life skills training, and connections to education, employment, and benefits. Youth may stay up to 21 days, during which they are supported in finding safe, stable housing—whether through family reunification or transition into longer-term housing programs. ESP ensures that young people not only have a safe place to sleep tonight, but also a path toward stability and independence.
