Program Description
Foster Kinship is a nonprofit organization based in Nevada dedicated to strengthening the capacity of kinship caregivers—relatives & close family friends who step up to raise children when parents are unable to do so. Since 2011, Foster Kinship has served as Nevada’s only kinship navigator program, providing tailored support to ensure kinship families can provide safe, stable, & nurturing homes for vulnerable children. Using an evidence-based model, Foster Kinship addresses the legal, financial, emotional, & community needs of each family. Services include case management, legal & benefits navigation, support groups, training, basic needs assistance, & child-focused programming. The organization also leads statewide & national advocacy efforts to improve systems & policies that impact kinship caregivers & the children they raise. By offering holistic support & elevating the voices of caregivers & youth, Foster Kinship helps families stabilize, thrive, and remain connected.
